Dog Training
The
Holdfast Dog Centre offers training that focuses on practical exercises
relevant to your family companion.
Our 8 week courses held conveniently to
coincide with the school terms. Five course levels are available, from
Basic through to Canine Good Citizen (CGC).
Class numbers are limited to a maximum of 10 dogs.
Dogs should be over 16 weeks and must have C5 vaccination to
enrol. You can find the course timetables in the link in the left
border of this page.
Dogs are assessed at the end of each course for certification. Completion of Level 1 (Basic)
provides a registration discount for
the life of the dog with local councils.
BASIC
Show
your dog how to walk on a loose lead, sit, drop, stay and stand when
you ask. And come when called - even when playing with other dogs.
Socialisation, play time and tricks included in each class.
ADVANCED
For
dogs that have completed Basic - improve your dog's loose lead walking.
Help them to understand longer stays, more reliable recalls and quicker
drops. Tricks, games, socialisation and play continue to be an integral
part of class.
CGC
Is
your dog a Canine Good Citizen? For
dogs that have completed Advanced. The CGC class fine tunes your dog's
training in real-life exercises such as polite greetings, loose leash
walking, self-control at doorways and exiting the car, standing for
grooming, etc. This course gives you the opportunity to be tested to
recieve certification for the Nationally Accredited Delta Canine Good
Citizen Certificate.
Private
Lessons
Available
by appointment. For dog assessment, help with individual problems or
exercises, behaviour in public or in the home.
